Deployment Details
CBC partnered with Pluck in 2007 to launch SiteLife Forums focused around their hit television program Dragon’s Den, a reality show where ambitious entrepreneurs compete for cash to fund their winning idea or invention. CBC was able to draw viewers from their televisions to the site by promoting online contests during the show and moderated forums where fans can gather to discuss the show and pitch their own ideas. The Dragon’s Den launch was Pluck’s first international instance of SiteLife and Pluck’s first launch of our social media on a television show site.
Later that year, CBC launched another instance of SiteLife forums focused on Canada Reads, a television and radio program where five great works of Canadian fiction are debated and defended by five celebrity panelists.
CBC then launched SiteLife Reactions enabling users to comment on the nearly 400 new articles published daily in topic areas including Sports, Entertainment and News. Additionally, CBC utilizes discovery widgets across the site to enable other users to view the most recommended and commented articles. With the power of Pluck, CBC users are able to engage in social networking, showcase their personal recommendations and comment on published articles through the use of SiteLife Personas.
